As a lifelong rider, owner, professional groom, Veterinary Assistant, etc., Mary Kate attended a 4H county project meeting where an Equine Massage Therapist gave a demonstration in the year 2000. She learned quite a bit more about alternative therapies for horses at various State 4H leaders conferences and equine related events throughout the years. In March 2010, after retiring from her first 25-year career, she jumped full tilt into an equine sports massage program for certification. After consultation with a respected local equine chiropractor, MK also decided to pursue education as a human massage therapist, acquiring her Wisconsin state license in March 2011. With a passion for working with horse and rider teams as part of their support network, the Masterson Method provides an effective tool for maintaining the competitive horse. She would love for all of her clients to become Masterson Method students, along with everyone handling their horses, because she believes everyone can use these techniques to effect positive change in the horse.
