As a PATH Intl. registered instructor since 2002, Karen has experienced the true healing power of horses with her clients in the EAAT arena. As great as the positive human benefits of equine therapy are, she realized special needs arising in the therapeutic horses as a result of their workload. Eager to revive their physical and emotional wellbeing Karen searched for a solution and found The Masterson Method. Its techniques help the horses rebalance and release tension keeping them happy and comfortable in their therapeutic careers. Becoming a Masterson Method Certified Practioner has given Karen the opportunity to give back to those noble horses as well as to her own horses. Her appaloosa, Star, has made tremendous improvements in overcoming restriction in her hind end from an old suspensory ligament injury. Karen was thrilled to earn her MM certification on Star's birthday in 2015.
Karen has been a lifelong horsewoman from the early age of eight years old, with her first pony Bullet. Her passion grew into showing hunter/jumpers, vaulting, reining, breeding appaloosa and quarter horses, obstacle trail competitions, and has coached Special Olympic riders to state competition medals. Along the way Karen earned her BS and MBA degrees and a private pilot license at Florida Institute of Technology. She had a successful 20 year career in the semiconductor and aerospace industries before retiring to be a stay-at-home-mom. She has been active in 4H as an adult leader, FFA Alumni, and a Sunday school teacher. She enjoys the country life with her husband and son on their family farm raising livestock and gardening.
Karen is currently working with the therapeutic horses and rescue farms in the Ocala, Florida area. In addition, Karen serves horses in all disciplines throughout Florida and Georgia.
