Sandy Vreeburg has had a passion for horses since birth. She started taking riding lessons at age 10 and spent long days at the barn helping in any way that she could. Since she did not have a horse of her own, she made herself available to ride the more challenging horses in the barn. By high school, she had developed a good reputation and was hired to maintain, condition and ride several horses for a local horse owner.
By her late 20’s, Sandy’s passion developed into providing a solid foundation for young horses and preparing them for the AQHA Futurities. After years of competing, she decided that it was time to become “one of those people” that she used to hire to keep her horse feeling and moving up to its peak potential. Sandy read about the Masterson Method in the spring of 2012, enrolled in her Weekend Course that August, the Advanced Course the following January, and has never looked back.
Currently, Sandy is fully immersed in the Masterson Method. She maintains a very lively practice of private clients, mentors, coaches, and teaches both the Weekend Courses and the Advanced Courses. In her role as the “Instructor Liaison,” she works to keep the communication lines open with the other instructors and plays a role in providing guidance and training to the new incoming Instructors as well.
Sandy is an outdoor enthusiast. When not working or riding, she can be found hiking in the coastal redwoods with family, friends, and her loyal canine companion. Since she was a little girl, she has always connected with animals and humans on a profound level. She feels continually thankful that through this work she has the opportunity to facilitate a deeper connection between people and their beloved horses.
