Hand in Hand: An Integration of Classical Horsemanship and Bodywork with Patrick King & Jim Masterson
Location: Natural Bridge, Virgina
Instructors: Jim Masterson & Patrick King
Dates: September 12-14 and September 15-17, 2025
Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Patrick King and Jim have teamed up to collaborate on this one-of-a-kind clinic experience that merges classical in-hand work with bodywork – a combination that is truly unparalleled when it comes to developing your horse as a partner and helping them to move and perform to their highest potential.
Patrick brings a wealth of experience, holding USDF Bronze and Silver Medals. His approach to horsemanship blends classical principles with biomechanics, helping riders develop a deeper connection to their horse’s movement, feel, and timing. This combination of working with the horse on the inside as well as the outside, psychologically and physically, really helps riders to understand a more “total package.”
Together, Patrick and Jim will share how to integrate bodywork and groundwork techniques into training and delve into the interconnection of mental and physical tension and its impact on movement and performance. Participants will learn practical exercises to develop freedom, flexibility, and feel—from the horse’s perspective.
Participating in this clinic includes three full days of learning about bodywork and in-hand work with hands-on instruction, coaching, lectures, and support from BOTH Patrick and Jim throughout each day.
