My family moved from a large town to a remote bay on Banks Peninsula, New Zealand, when I was 11. What began as a hobby, partly because there was little else to do, soon grew into a lifelong passion for ponies.
Many of the ponies I rode in those early years were Welsh ponies and the breed has remained an important part of my life ever since. Over the years I have bred and trained them extensively and, more recently, have adopted a more holistic approach to their welfare. This includes using a track system and keeping them in a herd environment. This has been a game-changer for both their health and our relationship with them. I have also learnt to trim them myself and am proud of my sound, happy herd.
Inspired by a special friend, I first developed an interest in healing horses in my early 20s. That interest took a back seat while I raised a family and helped run a successful drainage business. Then, during the COVID lockdown, I discovered The Masterson Method® and immediately knew it was the right fit for me. I went on to complete the training and became a Masterson Method Certified Practitioner (MMCP) in October 2024.
I really value the connection that The Masterson Method helps build between horses and humans and enjoy treating all equines – but have a particular love for working with ponies.
