The Masterson Method® is an interactive approach to equine bodywork that anyone can learn. You can help your pony feel and move better, and also build trust when you practice this bodywork. You learn to recognize and use the responses of the pony using light touch in order to find and release tension in key junctions, which will result in greater comfort and ease of movement.

With The Masterson Method, you can help to create—

• restored range of motion
• improved overall suppleness
• enhanced impulsion, collection, and ability to lift the withers and back
• decreased resistance behaviors
• improved connection with your pony

Building Trust

When horses understand that you are responding to what they are telling you, an instant level of trust develops. The horse is our partner and we should be constantly asking ourselves and our horses what we can do to improve that relationship.

The Masterson Method is developing a new course for youth—such as members of the USPC or 4H—to help you learn the basic principles and techniques so you can go further with your pony, both in terms of ribbons and relationship!

• Half day course for all levels to learn a few basic techniques
• Full-day course for more experienced riders to learn additional techniques

Students will receive a workbook with step-by-step instructions, illustrations, photographs and tips for safety.
