I studied French in France during high school. We rode horses in France. Received my Associate of Arts and then graduated in Education (K-9) with minors in math & science. Earned a Masters Degree in Special Ed-Emotionally Disturbed, Behaviour Disorientation, & Learning Disabilities–to age 21. During which I studied their educational systems in France, England, & Russia. I taught & retired from a public elementary school & tutored math for elementary, high school, & college. After acquiring an international driver’s license, my friend & I spent months driving around Australia, New Zealand, & Tahiti. Acquiring knowledge doesn’t just come from schooling/books alone. Observing & interacting opens up one’s mind. Both of my parents were Marines & since my dad was MIA, the government assisted with my education.
I studied Reiki with Ethel Lombardi. Mrs. Hawayo Takata (Japanese background from Hawaii) introduced Reiki to the West. She initiated 21 Reiki Masters so that it wouldn’t get lost again. Ethel Lombardi was one of the Masters. I am a Reiki Master & have worked with patients from 2 Chicago hospitals ( Rush & Loyola). I’ve trained in T’ai Chi & went to Hong Kong & Japan to see how they incorporate business & utilized T’ai Chi. A woman asked if I would do Reiki with her hunt horse. I loved it & so did the horse! The owner set up a lunge lesson on a Tempel Lipizzan stallion. Wonderful! I continued Alf Athenstaedt, George Williams, & other trainers at Tempel. The Lipizzan stallion that I loved wasn’t for sale so I bought an incredible warmblood. I also became a riding member of Mill Creek Hunt Club with a talented, loyal horse. In a nearby school district, a nurse was going with doctors to South America for the summer. They would go from village to village, through the mountains on horseback. She didn’t ride so I took her to my hunt horse once a week to start the basics–grooming, feeling his movements, & moving with him. When she returned from her aspiring journey, she said that the horses were smaller than my thoroughbred & that she felt confident riding. Attitude is imperative! I was staff for NAYR when it was held at Tempel Farms. Most of the time in charge of cross-country jumping (100 jump judges) & later dressage scoring. My hunt horse, prior to owning him, was used for the closing ceremony.
Went back to school (Chicago School of Massage Therapy) to become a Certified Massage Therapist. Also studied shiatsu & graduated from Ohashi Institute. Before the final, I went to stay with a Chinese accupuncturist in China. Great learning process! Since Massage Therapy incorporated 1 year of nursing anatomy & physiology, I hold an Illinois license.
With a riding friend, we took a voyage down the Danube which ended in Budapest. There we started our riding trip on Kisber-crosses, from castle to castle in Hungary. It was also amazing to watch the gypsies with their horses! Such bonds & talents!!! I bought an Oldenburg yearling & had a chiropractor look at him. She happened to be the vet for the breeder. Dr. Tracy showed me the UTP, which I had found in Masterson Method-I determined the cost for schooling & sold a piece of land in Hawaii for the cost. Between covid, no WiFi, a deer totaling my car (insurance taking 3 months to totaling it), a murdered body dumped across from my driveway—it has been a slow process! My mom taught me that if you want something, you figure out a way! Life is so connected!
