Elizabeth’s enchantment with horses began as a young girl when her grandmother told her stories of the trusting relationship she had with her family’s buggy horse. Elizabeth’s parents supported her desire to learn about horses by providing riding lessons and then by purchasing a horse to “keep her out of trouble.”
She was able to learn about and compete in many different disciplines throughout her lifelong involvement with horses and eventually ended up owning and running a boarding stable while teaching middle and high school choral music in the public schools. Elizabeth later became a certified therapeutic riding instructor through PATH and began a program through Pet Partners helping people learn about horses through creating relationships with her miniature horses.
Elizabeth studied and began doing equine sports massage therapy in 1997 due to an injury of a show horse in her barn after a local veterinarian recommended massage therapy. She accompanied a friend to a weekend Masterson Method® seminar and discovered the profound effects that working with “lightness” had on the horse’s body and how the method greatly improves one’s communication and relationship with their horse. She was “hooked!”
Serving others by working with horses to help them release tension and restore movement in their bodies along with helping horse owners develop a greater communication and relationship with their horses through The Masterson Method® has become a goal for Elizabeth.
