Description
This is an online, interactive Zoom course with live instruction. The comprehensive course explains basic anatomy and how dogs use their body in movement. Students will have independent reading and open book quizzes for each block.
The course material is covered in five blocks over three weeks:
- Week 1
- Block One is a detailed understanding of the structure and function of canine muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.
- Block Two is a detailed understanding of the structure and function of the canine skeletal system.
- Week 2
- Block Three is a detailed understanding of canine static confirmation and movement / biomechanics, including the confirmation and potential musculoskeletal health challenges of some common breeds and sporting activities.
- Week 3
- Block Four is a top line understanding of the structure and role of the canine nervous system in relation to biomechanics.
- Block Five is a top line understanding of the structure of the canine skin and its role as part of the nervous sensory system in relation to hands on therapy and biomechanics
