Having grown up on a farm in Northern Missouri, there have always been horses in my life.
In 2002 I went to my first farrier clinic, a Cytek Clinic on Natural Shoeing. As I learned more about shoeing and how it relates to the musculoskeletal system, I became more interested in equine bodywork. I started studying different modalities of bodywork and chiropractic in 2005, but was still looking for something when I found the Masterson Method® in 2010. I soon found I liked it best, with it’s non-resistance approach to releasing restriction in the horse, and it’s ability to help with lameness issues. In September of 2012 I became a Certified Masterson Method Practitioner.
In 2011 we moved to Southern Iowa, where my farrier business includes several different types of horses in various disciplines, including Halter Show Horses, Hunters and Jumpers, and Eventers. I now do business from my farm in Drakesville, Iowa as SKB Stables Farrier Service, and travel to parts of Northern Missouri and Southern Iowa specializing in shoeing, bare-foot trimming, and equine bodywork.
