Shannon McBride’s lifelong affinity for critters and all living things has taken many turns. Hiking and horse camp as a child evolved into working at a Raptor Rehabilitation Center in Ohio and studying wildlife management in Kenya as an undergraduate. After completing research in Ecological Anthropology and Ethnobiology, she went on to direct a local nonprofit called ‘Wild Intelligence,’ a program that focused on cultivating connection and mentoring through the development of earth skills. In truth, she has a deep desire to manifest a sense of Thomas Jefferson, Walt Whitman and Zora Neale Hurston.
After working for several years in a small business whose mission is to preserve culture through the development and sale of sustainably produced crafts, she has decided to work with horses and dogs full time. Her goal is to give back to those beings that have always been a source of joy and to improve their longevity and performance. She is now the proud owner of Forward Fluidity and continues to manage her family blueberry farm with her husband Billy, their dog Maddie, and cats Jillie, Little Bit and Trouble. She rides at Maggie’s Menagerie in Ila, Georgia.
