We all know the story of the little girl who loves horses more than anything. The one who dreams about them, spends every possible minute at the stable, and doesn’t want to wash her hands after riding—just to hold on to the smell of horses for a little while longer.
That little girl was me.
From as early as I can remember, horses have held a very special place in my heart. But well into my twenties, this passion remained a hobby that often required sacrifice to pursue. During those years, I was fortunate enough to ride many wonderful horses. Every single one of them taught me something valuable, and each left a lasting imprint on my heart.
Yet, the dream of having a horse of my own remained unfulfilled for a very long time.
Until one day—as life sometimes has its own beautiful plans for us—I met a little foal at a new stable. Completely in love at first sight, I sat down in the stall with the mare and her baby. Then something happened that I will never forget.
The little foal walked over to me, gently rested her head in my lap, and simply stayed there.
At that moment, I knew the decision had already been made for me.
That is how Amy came into my life—and with her began a journey I could never have imagined.
Together we grew through every new experience. Years later, while training to become a riding horse, Amy suffered an injury that required a long break from work. We moved to a large open-concept stable to give her more freedom of movement. What seemed like a necessary change at the time ended up transforming our lives completely.
It was there that we first encountered The Masterson Method®.
I watched a Practitioner working with a horse. At first, I assumed it was simply another form of physiotherapy. But the longer I observed, the more I realized that something much deeper was happening. This was far more than a treatment—it was a conversation. A quiet dialogue between horse and human. The practitioner wasn’t simply working on the horse; he was truly listening. With every gentle touch, the horse became softer, calmer, and more relaxed.
In that moment, I knew Amy needed this too.
Even after her very first session, things surfaced that I had never noticed before—areas of tension, subtle signals, and needs I had been completely unaware of. More importantly, something new began to grow between us: a different kind of communication. One that wasn’t about asking, but about listening.
At first, Amy seemed almost surprised. After all, for years I had cared deeply for her, but I hadn’t truly listened. Now, for the first time, I had tuned in to hear what she was trying to tell me.
That changed everything.
Only a few weeks later, I attended my first Masterson Method Weekend Course. Soon afterwards, I completed the Advanced 5-Day Course and began working through my case studies.
Every horse I had the privilege of working with became another teacher. Each one refined my eyes, my hands, and most importantly, my ability to observe, listen, and understand. During that time, the bond between Amy and me deepened in ways I never thought possible.
Today, The Masterson Method® is much more than a technique to me—it is a way of being. It is an invitation to truly listen to horses, to understand their language, and to meet them with patience, trust, and respect.
Every opportunity to work with another horse is a privilege. Each horse tells its own unique story—not through words, but through its body language, its responses, and the subtle signals that are so easily overlooked. It continues to amaze me how horses begin to soften and let go once they realize someone is genuinely listening.
This work has not only changed the way I see horses—it has changed me. It has taught me patience, presence, and the importance of paying attention to the smallest details, because they often carry the greatest meaning.
That is why it has become my passion to make The Masterson Method® available to other horses as well. My goal is to help horses experience greater relaxation, comfort, balance, and well-being, allowing them to benefit from the profound effects that deep relaxation can have on both body and mind. At the same time, I hope to help their owners discover just how much their horses are communicating—if we are willing to truly listen.
My wish is to share this unique approach with as many horse-and-human partnerships as possible, helping them build a deeper connection based on trust, understanding, and mutual respect. Because the greatest transformations often don’t happen through grand gestures—they happen in the quiet conversations that take place without words.
And it all began with a little foal who rested her head in my lap… and quietly changed my life forever.
