As a young child, the first touch of the horse opened the door to a lifelong learning journey of everything horse!  As a young gymnast with the passion for horses, I stumbled into the sport of vaulting.  I was fortunate enough to have the freedom to be a true barn rat, caring for and exercising the vaulting horses.  Vaulting gave me a very strong foundation into the biomechanics of both the horse and rider.  During the college hunt, a career counselor suggested looking at schools with Equine Programs (who knew)!

After graduating from The University of Findlay with a BS in Equine Science, I dove head first into the high end sport horse world.  While my riding background was more dressage based, I stepped into the H/J show world, working for a former Olympic rider along with a top equitation trainer.  Learning the fitness building and attention to detail to maintain horses competing at the FEI level has given me lifelong tools for maintaining healthy horses.  It also gave me the exposure to many different equine bodywork modalities, including The Masterson Method®.  Over the years I’ve worn my different hats working in the horse industry.  My current passion is connecting and listening to the horse, with the goal of connecting to a “think it” horse.  Becoming an MMCP has opened so many doors to learning to soften to the brace, including the nuances of how the horse and human processes and learns.
