Gretchen Deane works with hundreds of horses each year, throughout the Northeastern United States and other areas of the U.S. She specializes in combining dental and bodywork practices to promote healthy relaxation and movement through the horse’s TMJs, stomatognathic system and whole body. Gretchen works with all breeds and disciplines of horses and equines, from Grand Prix and FEI Showjumping and Dressage horses, to miniature donkeys and rescues. She is a Certified Practitioner of the Masterson Method®, a current certified practitioner with Spencer LaFlure’s school for Neuromuscular Horse Dentistry™, and also trained through The John Harvey Gray Center for Reiki Healing. Gretchen pursues continuing education in equine dentistry, bodywork, anatomy and movement, hoof care, horsemanship, animal communication, classical dressage and various other practices to support the wellness of our horses.
Gretchen is dedicated to providing educational information and resources that expand and progress our understanding of Equine Dental Health, TMJ Alignment™ and Whole Body Balance. Any time we float a horse’s teeth, the angles and texture created during that process affect neuromuscular health and movement patterns through the jaw, head, neck and entire spinal column. Gretchen became a Masterson Method® Certified Practitioner in 2016, and since 2020 she has had the honor of traveling to the Midwest twice each year to work with Jim and his horses and students. She provides talks, demos, and individual sessions for The Masterson Method® network and enjoys working with other practitioners to understand and promote healthy dental practices for our horses.
