Whitney has been an avid horse lover since childhood, riding hunters competitively, including participation in IHSA, and continuing her passion for riding as an adult. She has been actively involved in the Equine-Assisted Services (EAS) industry since 2007, beginning as a volunteer and pursuing her dedication to the field professionally.
Through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship Int’l (PATH Int’l), Whitney holds her Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) since 2009, and has been incorporating equine movement into physical therapy sessions as a PATH Int’l Registered Therapist since 2015. She has also completed PATH coursework in Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) and serves as a mentor for other professionals in the field.
Outside of her work as a physical therapist and EAS practitioner, Whitney teaches an undergraduate course at Slippery Rock University on Equine-Assisted Services and has contributed to research on the benefits of EAS. She is deeply passionate about partnering with horses, fostering connection, and helping others experience the transformative power of the human-horse bond.
