I grew up always loving animals of all sorts. I rode a bit as a child but no more than any other girl who one day dreamed of having a farm and being Snow White. During a challenging time in my life someone suggested I go to a workshop in Morgan Hill, California, called The Circle Up Experience. She mentioned it was “equine based” and all I could think of was “great, I love horses”. What I didn’t realize is that it would be truly life changing. I remember coming home from that workshop and all I wanted to figure out was how to keep the magic for me and bring it to other people.
I began to search for the perfect place for me to do this, and I found Laughing Pony Rescue in Rancho Santa Fe. Under the tutelage of Celia Sciacca, I learned all that I could about caring for horses on a day to day basis. I knew my long term plan (for equine assisted wellness) but thought I would start with the basics of caring for horses and getting to know Laughing Pony’s amazing herd of rescues. From there I began a process of learning that has yet to cease, including PATH certified ESMHL and their protocol for working with Veterans with PTSD, EAL Academy Facilitatorship, and many more. I have a certification for Equine Sports Massage as well as PEMF, just completed the Masterson Method Equine Specialist certification (MMES) and am currently a Masterson Method Fieldwork student on the path to becoming an MMCP.
In addition to working with the military, I am an official US Federal vendor for Equine Assisted Services, a vendor for the San Diego Regional Center, and hold monthly get-togethers for Mindfulness and Sound Healing.
If that isn’t enough, I am the founder of The Rosie Project. Our mission is to provide hope and healing for military members, veterans and families in need, and offers equine-assisted services that foster resilience, emotional well-being and personal growth.
