Karen Katzmark, MMES, is an equine bodyworker, massage therapist, educator, and equine-assisted learning facilitator with 25 years of experience in therapeutic massage and bodywork. Her path into equine bodywork began with her own horse, Demi, and in 2014 grew into working with therapy horses and continuing her education through a variety of hands-on approaches focused on supporting the horse’s comfort and well-being.
Karen has worked and volunteered in equine-assisted programs, supporting horses and participants through compassionate, horse-centered experiences. Her approach is grounded in listening, observation, and allowing the horse’s responses to guide the interaction.
As a Masterson Method® Equine Specialist, Karen works with equine-assisted services programs and especially values the opportunity to help participants, volunteers, and staff slow down, notice the horse’s subtle responses, and learn simple ways to give something back to the horses who give so much to people.
