From a young age, I knew the value that horses added to my life. The therapeutic effect of these animals shaped my childhood right from the beginning. While my peers moved in the fast-paced show world, I found value in observation, groundwork and just being in my horses’ stalls. After obtaining my B.S. in Biology from Rutgers University, my focus turned to advancing my career in the pharmaceutical industry and raising a family, moving me away from the horse world for a few fast-paced years.
When it was time to slow down again, I found Equi-librium, a PATH-Certified therapeutic riding center that had just relocated to my own town in Nazareth, PA. Being around horses again was a lot like coming home and I quickly moved from volunteer to Equine Operations Manager to a PATH-Certified professional (CTRI, ESMHL). I loved every one of our 11 horses and wanted to do everything I could for them. I knew the importance of touch from my experience, and when I came across The Masterson Method®, I finally had a method that could articulate and build on things I have intuitively known and practiced my whole life. My scientific background led me to appreciate the science behind it and accept the magic of it at the same time.
I hope to bring Masterson sessions to our therapeutic environment and not only facilitate the connections between horse and human but give a gift back to our horses who bring so much value to our lives and the lives of those we help.
