A woman with a yawning horse.

As a child I found I had an affinity with horses. Always asked to handle and work with some of the most challenging at the stables where I volunteered in exchange for riding lessons.

Back in the 80’s, when H&S was possibly wearing an old hat, if you were riding bareback without a bridle!

Then as a young adult, taking in horses for training and rehabilitation.

Forced to step back following an unrelated accident causing a broken back.

My healing journey highlighted the need for a holistic and multi-faceted approach, and inspired a move into training in a variety of bodywork modalities and complementary therapies.

During this break I found I also had an affinity with challenging children that had experienced trauma… It became clear that what I’d learned through horses – patience, mindful presence, and trust – applied just as much to people.

So my journey into understanding behavior, trauma, attachment, emotional intelligence, the neuroscience of change, mindfulness, and so much more… began.

After a full recovery I took this learning into my work with horses and people…

Now, with nearly 30 years’ experience in the field of Equine Assisted Learning, I offer compassionate, intuitive, and science based approaches to partnering with horses.

With a focus on building reciprocal relationships, improving equine welfare and wellbeing, giving horses (and humans) choice and a voice, and supporting them to manage the challenges and stressors of modern day life and domestication.

Alongside my work in the South of England, I also support other practitioners and organizations to ensure they are meeting the needs of their equines.

Drawing on my experience and knowledge in equine behavior, ethology, ecology and cognition I offer consultations, and program development support.

All are tailored to each unique situation, horses, and clients to ensure the highest standards of welfare for all.

In my capacity as a Masterson Method Equine Specialist, and a Nature Assisted Mindfulness guide, I also offer tailored, therapeutic, CPD and training days within the EAL sector.

Empowering practitioners to find ways to reduce and relieve stress, show up as their best selves, and give back to their team of incredible animals.
