I have a master’s degree in education and my career has focused on counseling and helping others develop financial literacy. I was introduced to The Masterson Method® while volunteering with Champ’s Heart, a program in Idaho Falls, Idaho that provides horse encounters for disabled children and veterans. I was drawn to Champ’s Heart initially as a volunteer due to seeing the tremendous benefits to both children and veterans who interact with the horses.
I have had a lifelong interest in horses, riding both Western and English styles.
I attended the Masterson Method® weekend seminar in Las Vegas. The responses elicited by this gentle soft centered approach of “less is more” really resonated with me. When I saw there was a program specifically focused on horses used in therapeutic settings, I felt it was important to pursue the program in Pueblo, CO and become certified.
I am now a Champ’s Heart Board member. Each week I lead a team of Champ’s Heart volunteers that provide weekly Masterson Method® equine bodywork on our over 20 hard-working horses at Champ’s Heart arena. I find it immensely rewarding.
