I have volunteered at Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center for almost 20 years now and was a participant at a Masterson Method® clinic there quite a few years ago. I LOVED it and wanted to learn more, although my life as a stay at home mom was quite busy and I just couldn’t fit it in. Fast forward….My kids are successfully moving into their adult lives & I now have the opportunity to pursue some of my dreams. Learning the Masterson Method® so that I could be helpful to all of the horses that help heal so many people is one of those dreams.
My love of horses began as a child although I was not afforded the opportunity to be around them or ride until I was in my 40’s, when I became a Winslow volunteer. I have learned so much over the years and have had the chance to be a part of some very moving, miraculous moments between horses & humans. Being on a healing journey of my own over the last 35 years, I quickly saw the correlation between horses & healing in my own life as well. If I help horses and they continue to help people it creates a ripple effect of healing…physically, spirituality & emotionally. I have been searching for a way to help others have that connection, as well as ways to better serve Winslow, their clients, the amazing herd that works so hard and all the horses I am blessed to have in my life.
Horses amaze me with their intelligence, beauty and abilities to heal people where modern science can’t. Being able to help a horse feel better or heal fills me with pure gratitude and contentment for giving back to them as they give to us. My dear friend calls me the horse whisperer (a dream come true for me) – she’s been watching me for years love and work with the horses in my life. Recently, she told me she admires my quiet, honest, empathetic, sensitive and gentle spirit which all help me to connect with these magnificent creatures. I strive to be all that she sees in me and more with each and every encounter. I am so very grateful to have had the opportunity to become a Masterson Method Equine Specialist and am so excited to continue my MM learning journey. I’m looking forward to being able to help as many horses and humans as possible.
