Karen is passionate about dogs and horses and holds a deep commitment to improving their welfare. Originally from the UK, Karen emigrated to Australia in 2002 to live in Queensland. Karen is a registered counsellor and Equine Assisted Psychotherapist.

Karen was introduced to The Masterson Method® in 2023 and went on to complete the training to become a Masterson Method Certified Practitioner Equine (MMCP Equine).  She then went on to complete the training to become a Masterson Method Certified Practitioner Canine.

Karen has several dogs of her own – both working dogs and dogs that love to do agility.  She sees the benefit of the Masterson Method bodywork to ensure her dogs receive the attention they need to keep them physically and mentally fit.

The Masterson Method® is a gentle, interactive form of canine bodywork that can be especially beneficial for performance and working dogs, as well as dogs recovering from injury or surgery. By working with the dog’s nervous system and responding to subtle signs of tension and relaxation, it can help release accumulated muscular tension, support comfortable and natural movement, improve mobility, and promote relaxation.

For athletic dogs, regular bodywork may help maintain suppleness, body awareness and optimal movement, while during rehabilitation it can provide valuable support for comfort and reducing compensatory tension as the dog returns to normal activity.

For older and senior dogs, gentle bodywork can help maintain mobility, ease everyday stiffness and tension, and encourage greater comfort and relaxation, helping them stay active and enjoy a better quality of life.
