Sarah is a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist in Anchorage, Alaska who specializes in working with children with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. When her oldest daughter was born with a Lower Limb Deficiency that required frequent surgeries and rehabilitation, Sarah rediscovered how powerful and healing our connection with horses can truly be. Seeing how much this time with horses and riding helped her daughter’s mental and physical health, Sarah began to study how to incorporate equine movement as a treatment tool within speech therapy sessions with other children (ie, Hippotherapy).
Sarah found herself wanting to give back to these wonderful horses who participated in therapeutic riding programs, and who helped her daughter to rehabilitate physically and emotionally post-surgery. She was drawn to The Masterson Method® and began practicing with the Beyond Horse Massage book on every horse she could.
Sarah completed her Masterson Method Equine Specialist certification in July 2026 and is excited to use these skills when volunteering at her local therapeutic riding facility, as well as within her developing therapy practice.
