Carina’s passion for horses began five years ago when she started volunteering at a Therapeutic Riding center where her daughter had been a student. Her connection to the horses in the program grew when she became mom to a horse in the program named Murphy. Carina quickly learned what a deep connection you can develop with these amazing animals and wanted to be able to help others find this connection as well.

After seeing Jim at the Midwest Horse Fair, she knew she wanted to learn more. Thanks to her Masterson Method Certification as an Equine Specialist for equine-assisted services programs, Carina now volunteers to work with the horses in the Therapeutic Riding program to help them release the tensions from the day to day stress of being a lesson horse. She also has the pleasure of working alongside Therapeutic Riding students teaching the bladder meridian technique and helping them improve their connection with their lesson horse in a way that just jumping on and riding can’t.

Carina takes pride in seeing the students work with their horses and walk away with a smile and a sense of calm within themselves. Her favorite part of being a Masterson Method Equine Specialist is having one on one time with each horse and giving them a safe space to find the releases they need and watching them become more and more comfortable and trusting.
