In fourth grade I had fifty Breyer plastic horses. In fifth grade I started saving money to buy a pony. By the time I was in high school I was riding local shows and loving the horse world. When I left for college I put the horse world on pause, vowing to get back one day.  After obtaining my Ph.D. (physiological psychology), doing a post-doc, working in the semiconductor industry, and raising twin boys, I was ready to make horses a priority. I stumbled on Masterson – a non-horse friend of mine mentioned a neighbor friend of hers (SV) who did something with horses that sounded quite interesting. I took the weekend course without having touched a horse in decades and realized this was the door I wanted to walk through.

The Masterson Method® gives me a unique avenue to connect with horses. Whether the goal is to improve performance or overall general well-being, the focus is the connection and respect that we share with the horse during the body work. This gives the horse a voice in his own healing and helps them to not only heal physically but emotionally as well. For so many horses, the building of a connection based on trust and touch is the foundation that helps them be a happy and healthy horse.

I live in the Santa Cruz area with my dog Scooby. And I still have some of my Breyer plastic horses! 😊
