Diane grew up in a small town in west-central Illinois. She has been fortunate to be able to own horses for most of her life. In the past, she has shown and raised Appaloosas, which lead her to become a student of natural horsemanship.
Diane was lucky to meet Denise Lesnik from Inside Out Horse Training in northern Illinois whose philosophy of training emphasizes the mental and emotional well being of the horse by training the horse and horseman from within. This began numerous trips to clinics and lessons. One such trip was to participate in a 2-year old colt start with Ray Hunt in Wisconsin. Diane states that this was one of the highlights in her journey to better her horsemanship. Terry Church's clinics as well as lessons with Denise furthered her understanding of paying attention to the horse and working from where the horse is so you are able to present yourself in a way the horse can respond favorably to.
Diane was introduced to the Masterson Method while volunteering at a therapeutic riding center, when one of the instructors questioned her as to whether she was using the Masterson Method while working with the horses. Diane had never heard of Masterson Method and after reading about the method, she immediately registered for a two-day weekend course. After the two-day course, she began the process of becoming a certified Masterson Method Practitioner.
Diane has found how beneficial the Masterson Method is for the horse by releasing tension that impairs movement, balance and attitude. Diane continues to look for ways of improving the horse/human relationship to make the interaction more enjoyable for the horse and rider. She has worked on a variety of horses to include therapeutic, dressage, barrel racers, hunter/jumpers, western pleasure, and trail. You can reach Diane via email or phone.
