(Carmel Valley, California) The spark that horses ignited in Malia began in her childhood while racing wild ponies along reed filled canals with her cousin in Sonoma County. That spark grew in 2000 and further ignited Malias soul upon meeting that special horse who taught her about being a good leader, listener and what real commitment was as young adult. This fire opened the door for Malia and she became a fixture at the barn which naturally evolved into a small local training business in Carmel Valley. Malia has a natural ability of softness and feel which spoke well to the youngsters and she enjoyed starting young colts and fillies under saddle as well as teaching novice riders to learn that same feel with their own horses. There was a moment in her life where that spark was dampened by the loss of her sweet gelding to a catastrophic injury just 10 days before the birth of her first daughter that she decided to take a step back from horses to only focus on her a family and heal her heart from the loss of Dugan. Horses were always in her heart and were just sitting on the back burner waiting ever so patiently for her spark to reignite. The Masterson Method did that for Malia, reigniting that deep connection for horses. With her love and natural ability for horses the path became ever more clear that it was her duty and desire to heal and help all equine. With hard work, dedication, and exemplary coaches, mentors and family support Malia proudly became a certified practitioner in August of 2018. Her business Malia Rose Aldrich Equine Performance Bodywork is dedicated to all horses, big and small, of all disciplines from trail ridden backyard loves to grand prix level divas, serving all equine and their riders within central coast of California and beyond. Malia resides in remote east Carmel Valley with her husband Forest, 2 horse crazy daughters (ages 4& 6), 4 outdoor country kitties, 2 dusty ranch pups, 1 performance horse "Sonny" and 1 one of a kind amazing kids horse "La Jolla".
