The Masterson Method™ Three Day Advanced Course – Enthusiast Learning Path
Course Description
In the Masterson Method Weekend Seminar Workshop, you learned how to read and use the horse’s responses to your touch, and how to perform techniques that release tension in the three key junctions of the horse’s body that most affect performance.
In this ”Hands-on” Seminar-Workshop, Jim will further your knowledge to read and use responses of the horse and learn how to recognize what the horse is telling you through visual and palpable responses that enable you to get deeper releases of tension than the horse would otherwise be able to release on its own. This is a truly interactive process that results in a change in relationship, and an improvement in movement and performance. The Three Day Advanced Course is the next step on the learning path for horse owners and enthusiasts who may not be interested in following the Certification path.
Prerequisites:
- You must have taken the Masterson Method™ Weekend Seminar-Workshop.
- Be familiar with basic equine anatomy.
In the Three Day Advanced Course you will learn:
- Extensions of techniques learned on the Weekend course that will improve the effectiveness of these techniques.
- New body working techniques.
- Basic evaluation skills that will give you a picture of what’s going on with your horse’s body, and how this might relate to issues with the horse’s feet, legs and saddle, and other possible problems.
The immersion format for this course is similar to that used on the Certification Phase I, 5-Day Course. By working on multiple horses each day, many different performance issues are encountered. You will learn how to recognize and deal with these issues as they arise. This format also provides you the opportunity to perfect your horse reading and handling skills.
Jim has suggested some books for you browse before the course:
- Horse's Muscles in Motion, by Sara Wyche
- Physical Therapy and Massage for the Horse, by Jean-Marie Denoix & Jean Pierre Pailloux
- Tug of War: Classical Versus "Modern" Dressage, by Dr. Gerd Heuschmann
