Tamara Yates has a 50 year diversity of experience with working multiple breeds of horses and has shown in a variety of Equestrian disciplines. This experience along with her academic background has allowed Tamara to have a uniquely deep understanding of the demands put on the Equine Athlete. Having shown Hunter/Jumpers as a youth, she discovered Dressage after graduate school and showed through fourth level. After about ten years of dressage she was exposed to some talented Reining horses. Having been somewhat “suspicious” of “Western” riders, she was pleasantly surprised to find that Reiners required their horses to be balanced, fluid and collected, and all in one hand! Reiners were a short step away from Reined Cowhorses, so she has now moved onto working with cattle and has been going down the fence ever since! After retiring from a career as an educator and teacher advocate, Tamara has found the Masterson Method of Integrated Equine Performance Bodywork™ to be a phenomenal work experience.
